Summer Highlights

I am going to do my best to recap the summer, but if I forget something cut me a little slack. I forget a lot these days! And some events are out of order ...

We went camping for the first time with Jonas. He didn't get too much sleep in the "tent house."

Nate H. and Sarah got married and Jonas danced and played football with Nate at the reception!

The next day we took a side trip to Hodad's. We were told we must eat there at some point in our lives. We got there right before it opened and we had to wait in a line to get in. We're not sure they were the best burgers we've ever had, but they were tasty.

We celebrated the 4th of July at the Wiers' house.

Jonas decided he wanted to wear a "shirt tie" like Daddy for ACA's graduation.

All ready for graduation.

Just a couple of our favorite 2011 graduates - Lauryn and Hailey.

Another favorite - Caitlin.

Jonas got a pool for the backyard.

He LOVED to run and bounce into the sides, resulting in splashes of course!  He tended to force Mom out of the pool.

We had to take some long car rides to get to some places, so Jonas caught up on current events.

Making sand castles and getting some grit in the diaper.

Thanks for the new bed, Sarah!

Jonas actually started sleeping on his back as soon as he got a bed. He doesn't thrash around like a worm on the end of a fishing hook anymore when he is sleeping.

Jonas and I flew to Michigan without Nate.  Jonas did a great job on the plane.

Jonas learned how to golf from Aunt Jess. Great choice for a teacher, as Nate can't swing his way out of a wet paper bag.

We went to Silver Beach in St. Joe and rode the merry-go-round.  Jo chose an elephant.

Jonas with Lily, Sadie (behind Great Grandma?), Mia, Lydia, Aubrey, Oakleigh, Great Grandma, and Great Grandpa. Dad's cousins have a lot of girls!

Silver Beach, at the fountain.

Another picture at the Cheese at dear old Calvin.

We went to Bob Evans with Great Grandpa and Grandma Wierenga.

Jonas got to drive the golf cart at Thornapple.  He only hit three people.

Jonas plays the Wii in his whitey tighties.  If he is still doing this in 15 years, we may need to pay for professional help.

Jonas got to fly a helicoptor at the San Diego Zoo.  He never got it off the ground.
