Nine months. Wow. I can't believe that in less than 3 months, Jonas will be a year old already. Just as everyone told me it would, time went really fast. I've enjoyed each stage (for the most part) that Jonas has gone through. I enjoy each new thing he does and look forward to what he'll be doing next. I don't "miss" months gone by yet, but I think that I may when we pass the one year mark. But, who knows?
Jonas had his 9 month check up on October 1st. He is doing great. He's making all his milestones and he keeps growing. He is now 30 inches long (98%) and 19lbs 3oz (25%). He didn't have to get any regularly scheduled vaccines, but his mean mommy made him get the flu shot - just the first dose of it of course. Don't worry, I will subject him to torture again in the beginning of November for the second dose and possibly for an H1N1 vaccine (since there have been a couple of cases of it at ACA, where Nate and I are a lot). Just like with the regular vaccines, he cried when the nurse poked him, but he recovered.
I feel like I have to say this again and again, "I LOVE Jonas' pediatrician." She is a perfect fit for ME. I'm a worrier, but she's completely laid back, which I think has helped me tremendously. She is also just a funny person. This time she said to me, "You know that Jonas is abnormally long and skinny, right?" Ha. He is, thus being in the 98% for height and 25% for weight. Don't worry, she's not concerned about his weight. :) Just something to consider: Jonas was 21 inches when he was born, now he's 30. That means he's grown an average of an inch a month. Babies are just the craziest things, aren't they?
Jonas is getting around quite well these days, maybe a little too well. He's very curious and we try to foster that within reasonable bounds. He's a boy and he gets bruises and scratches. He is a quick crawler and pulls himself up on everything. He's climbing already too. He occasionally tries to take a step, but he's not going anywhere on that yet. I want him to walk soon and I don't want him to walk soon. He's a handful (in a good way) already.
I LOVE my son!
